Biography

Katie is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner working closely with Dr. Reena Mehta at Uptown Allergy & Asthma. She was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Katie attended the University of Mississippi for her undergraduate education, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. She then decided to pursue her nursing career in 2008 and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake in 2009 with an associate degree in nursing, then attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. After working for over 13 years as an emergency room nurse in New Orleans, she decided to further her education and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Master’s of Science in nursing.

Katie is an active member of several professional organizations including the Emergency Nurses Association, Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Katie lives in New Orleans with her husband, and their two daughters. She enjoys traveling, gardening, and exploring local restaurants.
