Dr. Mehta is amazing. She successfully diagnosed and treated my son’s allergies. What sets Dr. Mehta apart, though, is her kindness. She spent an extraordinary amount of time with us and explained everything with a combination of science, knowledge, caring and compassion. She was always also available by email or phone. Thanks to Dr. Mehta, my son is living a happy, healthy life unimpeded by allergies.

Benefits of Telemedicine Remote Allergy Care

Even if you’re a new patient of Uptown Allergy, Dr. Mehta is able to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms, offer management guidance, prescribe medications, and respond to any questions or concerns you have. As an established provider, Dr. Mehta has been using Telemedicine to care for patients for multiple years.

Remote allergy care, sometimes called telemedicine or telehealth, is a way for you to check in with Dr. Mehta without having to travel to our office. This is especially ideal for patients that live farther away and aren’t able to make the trip in for an initial consultation, regular checkups, medication changes, prescription refills, or follow-up appointments.

Even if you’re nearby, telemedicine visits allow for more flexibility for both you and Dr. Mehta, and can be extremely convenient if you’re balancing a full schedule of work and/or family responsibilities.

Telemedicine Remote Allergy Care FAQs

How are remote allergy visits conducted?

We use a secure video chat app on your phone or on your computer so you can see Dr. Mehta and Dr. Mehta can see you during your remote visit. It’s very similar to Facetime or Skype, but compliant with healthcare privacy and security regulations. Remote allergy visits proceed in more or less the same way that in-person visits do.

Do I need special technology to have telemedicine visits?

The technology requirements for telemedicine are pretty basic by today’s standards. There’s a good chance that you already have everything you need! The basic requirements are:
  • A camera phone or a computer with a webcam
  • High speed internet connection
  • Telemedicine app
We’ll provide you with instructions on how to access our Telemedicine app when you schedule your first remote visit.

No, you do not have to visit us in-person before your first remote visit. In some situations, telemedicine can be the ideal way for you to have your first consultation with Dr. Mehta.

Can I expect the same quality of care with remote visits as I get with in-person visits?

Dr. Mehta participates as a patient in a mock remote allergy visit to help demonstrate what to expect when you use telemedicine to see your allergist.
